New York Pickles

one Cwhite vinegar
1/2 Cwater
1/2 to 3/4 C  sugar, or equivalent amount of sweetener
1 to 2 Tdill weed
one clovegarlic optional
3 to 4cucumbers, sliced
oneonion, thinly sliced

Combine white vinegar, water, sugar, dill weed, and garlic clove in pan. Bring to a boil

Pour over cucumbers and onion slices

This keeps weeks in the fridge. I also vary it by adding sliced carrots or sliced sweet red peppers. When chopped, this also makes a good sandwich topping
