Rear Barbell Shrugs for your traps

This strengthens your traps, which are used in every pulling and lifting motion. This will also strengthen and stabilize your neck. This movement is especially useful if you aren't getting enough benefit from your dumbbell shrugs.
 
Place barbell on your rack's safety pins. Use overhand grip with one hand and underhand grip with the other hand, roughly shoulder width apart.
 
Shrug your shoulders up and slightly in toward each other. I stand on a small wooden step to get myself to the right height for my rack - I'm short. <g>
