Hi! I'm Brandy. Therman and I own a graphic design business called Mystiko Designs. Being that I am only 21, there wasn't a whole lot to come before CHF. I'd just recently gotten married a few years before and my husband Therman and I were dreaming of our future. We had Brittani, our daughter born in 1996, and we ached for another baby to fill our family and close the circle. All the ultrasounds showed it was a boy but Brittani prayed for a little sister and now we have Brooke born in February of 2000.
After her birth, I had blood pressure problems, chest pains, shortness of breath and massive fatigue. Thirteen doctors and 7 ER doctors said nothing was wrong with my heart. I began going to doctors in February right after Brooke's birth and wasn't diagnosed until June 24, 2000, when I went to my husband's doctor and begged for answers.
I would say that my outlook on life is mild. I don't feel like I will kick it forever. I mean, someday everyone is gonna die, but I do feel my limits. I pray and attend worship at church, and when I am in the presence of God I feel at peace with life. My daughter is very high in intelligence and understands everything I do about my condition and lays her little hand on my heart and pray to the Lord. He listens to everyone, I know, but can you imagine hearing it from her.
My EF was 30% in June. On December 4, 2000, I go for a re-check to see if it has improved or not.

March 13, 2001 - On December 4, 2000, I had my echo. They said my EF was 56% and there was no heart enlargement. One month later, while at a check-up, the CHF nurse said, "Oh yeah, I need to talk to you about your EF." Well, come to find out it is really 40-45% and the first number was just an "estimate" but hey, 40 to 45% is better than the 30% it was in June of 2000! Blessed be the day that this is all over!
I am a very petite person and this is what my doctor feels is best.
