Running this large web site takes time and money. Voluntary donations are my only income, and only a percentage goes to pay me for the work - the rest pays for the web site. You can donate by check, by credit card, or using a PayPal account. CHFpatients.com, Inc. is a 501(3)(c) non-profit corporation. USA donations are tax deductible. Our EIN is 03-0439490. Please include an e-mail address or full mailing address with your donation, whether online or by check, so we can send you a letter of receipt for your tax purposes! An e-mail address is easier.

Who Runs This Show?

That would be me. My name is Jon. I am President and one of three Directors of CHFpatients.com, Inc. Official corporate mission statement here. Contact me here.

What Do You Know About Heart Failure?

I have heart failure. I was diagnosed in 1994 with an EF of 13% and a Vo2max of 13. So I know what it's like to live with CHF. Eleven years later, I have an EF of 55% and a Vo2max of 30.

Who Pays To Run This Site?

My family and my readers. Companies have occasionally donated software and hardware. I do not allow advertising on this site and unfortunately I have no sponsors. I get a percentage of donations as my only income, and believe me, it isn't a living. I gross roughly 9000 a year in donations, of which I get only a percentage as salary and that is taxed. You do the math.

Why Should I Trust Your Information?

Read it and decide for yourself. Most of the "hard" info can be verified through the end-noted sources. I also have 3 CHF specialists helping me with content adjustment. However, the content is all mine and so are any mistakes. If you spot one, please let me know so I can fix it.
Please note that we are listed in Dr. Marc Silver's New York Times bestseller "Success With Heart Failure" as the best patient resource for heart failure on the web. I spoke in 2006 at PC-heart's medical roundtable to some of the best surgeons, doctors, nurses, and palliative care experts in the world about the patient perspective - at their invitation. I e-mail with some of the best HF doctors in the world. Our site gets well over 3 million page views a year and we pop up in the top 10 search returns in Google for heart failure topics regularly - without paying them a dime for it. I was the only person to spot a mistake in the latest official treatment guidelines from the AHA/ACC. Marc Silver got it corrected after I pointed it out to him (He is a founding member of the Heart Failure Society of America, sits on the committee that writes the treatment guidelines, and is a CHF specialist and world-respected researcher).
     I must know something.

Why Do You Do It?

Jesus wants me to do it. See this page. It's that simple.

Aren't You The Jon's Place Guy?

Yes. I changed domains to make it more professional. Jon's Place is still mine and still has wallpapers, Christian music pages, random thoughts, spiritual pages, and more.  Updated December 15, 2006
